H O N O R    T H R O U G H    T H E    M A R T I A L    A R T S

Having well over 20 years experience in the martial arts, Sensei has earned her 5th degree black belt in 2005 and was inducted into the 
BLACK BELT HALL OF FAME in August, 2008.  She has a black belt in Shotokan-Karate, and Tae Kwon Do, has been a practitioner of tai chi for 19 years (since 1992), and also trained in American Karate, Kobudo, traditional Jujitsu, and Aikido.  She prefers the art in martial arts. 

She has published a book 'Philosophies of the Martial Arts' and is currently working on a second book, ‘The Heart of the Martial Arts.’  Her writing has been published in 'The Word', 'The Oswegonian', and 'Town Talk.'

Having entered numerous tournaments in the past, she won 2nd place in her final competition both in sparring & kata at the national karate tournament in DC where there were over 20 competitors in both rings.

A High School Honors Society graduate, Magna Cum Laude in college, Sensei earned numerous MONY scholastic art awards and currently runs two successful businesses in Raleigh.

Her interests include biking, hiking, art, reading, creating writing, dogs, archery, Halloween, swimming, canoeing/kayaking, and Roman History.  Sensei is happily married. 

She holds her Sensei, Mr. Garrett, in the most highest regard.
Also in her heart are her past teachers: “Sir” from college, Sensei Boone, Blackwell, Frank Wong, and current teachers Jim Cross (tai chi) and Michael Chuck (weapons) for our endless training on the driveway.
